These individuals are the guardians of their clients’ dignity in a system that too often ignores their humanity. The details that mitigation specialists uncover can change the course of a client’s life, transform their defense, and lead to dramatically different outcomes.
Each year, Advancing Real Change, Inc. recognizes two mitigation specialists with our annual awards: the Muhammad-White Award, which honors a mitigation specialist whose body of work has profoundly advanced the field of mitigation, and the Emerging Leader Award, which is given to a mitigation specialist who represents the future of the profession.
