Speaker’s Bio:

Jeff Sherr is a trainer and consultant for public defenders with over 30 years of experience. He specializes in teaching storytelling and performance skills for trial advocacy, as well as training the trainers who lead public defender education nationwide. He is the creator of tools widely used by defenders across the country, including The Public Defender Motivational Triad and WhyStorming.

Jeff has been a training director since 2001—first with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy (DPA) and later with the National Association for Public Defense (NAPD). In these roles, he developed national conferences, launched the first virtual public defense conference, and created innovative online training programs that continue to serve public defense professionals nationwide.

Over the years, Jeff has taught for organizations such as Gideon’s Promise, the National Criminal Defense College, Clarence Darrow Death Penalty College, Harvard Trial Advocacy Workshop, Bronx Defender Academy, and numerous state litigation institutes.

Currently, Jeff works as a consultant with Reduct Video on how they can best serve public defenders. Beyond public defense, Jeff has an extensive background in theater, having studied with the National Shakespeare Conservatory and the University of Kansas. He performs regularly with Central Kentucky Improv and tours with his solo play Stumbling Stones: The John Rosenberg Story.
