2025 Baltimore Conference
Join Advancing Real Change (ARC) Inc. for our 2025 Baltimore Seminar, Mitigation Practice: Key Tools and Strategies on July 31, 2025. This seminar is intended as a primer for those with limited exposure to mitigation investigation. It is focused on developing foundational knowledge and support needed to strengthen client advocacy through the effective use of mitigation strategies.
Session topics include The Power and Importance of Mitigation, Effective Teamwork, Building Rapport with Clients and Witnesses, Records Collection and Analysis, and others covering the building blocks of mitigation practice. To see the agenda, click here.
Mitigation is a powerful yet often underutilized form of advocacy that can significantly improve a client’s chances of achieving equitable legal outcomes. By providing judges, juries, prosecutors, and other decision makers with an understanding of a client’s life, mitigation helps humanize those involved in the criminal legal system. Integrating this approach across all areas of criminal defense – including capital, youth, emerging adults, and criminal cases broadly – is particularly vital when representing clients from marginalized and underserved communities, as it plays a crucial role in promoting equity.
